DID YOU KNOW???

... that there are 250 species of bees?

... that the queen bee is the largest bumblebee, followed by the female worker bee?

... that the male worker bee, the drone, is the smallest?

... that bumblebees have four wings?

... that bumblebees will not die after they sting, unlike honey bees?

... that bumblebees will pollinate flowers, fruits and vegetables, but they produce very little honey?

... that bumblebees are far less aggressive than honey bees?

... that humans are the bumblebee's most harmful enemy?

Let's all work together to keep those darling little bumblebees around because without them, our world would be a very different place!

What You Will Need:

cupcake mix
cupcake liners
cupcake trays
aluminum foil
white frosting
green food coloring
toothpick
green licorice (like Twizzlers Rainbow Twists)

* * *

Directions:

1. Make cupcake batter according to the directions on the package. Place cupcake liners into cupcake trays and fill each one about half way.

* * *

2. For each cupcake, roll 3 balls of aluminum foil (mine were about 1/2 inch wide) and place them between the tray and the liner, spaced equally around the cupcake.

* * *

3. Bake cupcakes according to the directions on the box, but for slightly less time because the cupcakes aren't as full. When we made ours, it was for about 5 minutes less than on the package. Use the toothpick to determine where the cupcakes are done or not.

* * *

4. Let the cupcakes cool and then remove them from the trays.

* * *

5. Mix some of the green food coloring with the white frosting until you achieve the desired color. Cover each cupcake with the green frosting and add a piece of green licorice that is about 2 inches long.

Confession:
My daughter and I had SO much fun making these cupcakes and she is so excited to take them to school to share with her friends. After mixing up the cupcake mix, I realized that I had left my camera at my in-laws... they live over an hour away and it was too late to go get it. Sorry :(

I really do hope that you go check out this link - there is such an adorable picture of the finished product.

I know you will have as much fun making these as we did!!! Enjoy :)
